Gateway Page

A virtual gateway page is implemented as a means of preventing automated abuse of the system through hot-linking, robots, spiders and other means. All sessions must be initiated at the gateway page. If a file is requested by an unauthenticated user who has not been granted a secure session by authenticating through the gateway page, the user is redirected to the home page. It is also the only page that is not subject to http-referer checks and restrictions.
