Login Process

During login the sequence is:

a - browser requests virtual gateway page with the final destination specified as a query string, for example:

http://www.example.com/302F/? path=http://www.example.com/welcome.asp

b - server replies with authentication request

c - user is prompted for user name and password by a browser dialogue

d - browser resubmits request with user name and password

e - server authenticates user credentials and initiates session state

f - server redirects browser to real target page http://www.example.com/welcome.asp

g - subsequent requests by the same browser for other files during the same session will be permitted as long as the proper authentication credentials are presented
